Information Privacy and Electronic Privacy Essay

Information Privacy and Electronic Privacy - Essay Example This type of privacy is however not limited to information stored in computer systems alone but in other electronic devices as well such as fax machines, mobile phones, telephones and even in emails. It pertains to any information that is transmitted or stored electronically in a digital manner. This paper is going to focus on differentiating the two kinds of privacy mentioned above. Even though they seem interrelated, they have their own differences including differences in legislative acts governing them as well as their sources and the potential privacy breaches as well as what measures can be taken to ensure the information remains private unless it is absolutely necessary for third parties to have such information (Eyob, 2009). Information privacy concerns information that is stored in records. This means that it covers only the information that the owner has provided about himself or herself depending on where it was needed for example in hospitals it is the medical records or in financial institutions it is the financial records about transactions among others. However, when it comes to electronic privacy, it is concerned with not only the stored personal information but the information in transit as well. This therefore means information one has just sent to another and even the recipient has yet to receive it but it is intercepted mid-way. Information privacy is mostly breached by individuals and private institutions seeking information that can be sold in industrial espionage or to taint the name of an individual. People seeking this kind of information therefore hire hackers and spies to go through the physical and electronic records in storage containing the information they need about the individual. In electronic privacy, the information is mainly sought by the government and law enforcement institutions in order to incriminate an individual. This is the reason they tap into conversations over the phone as well as

Decisions In Paradise 3 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Decisions In Paradise 3 - Essay Example Then GT Corp should channel funds to establish the infrastructures needed for the school. As Education is a necessity for the youth of Kava, the school will have no problem in recruiting the local students. There are certain factors and/or considerations prevailing in Kava both in its internal as well as in its external environment, which could affect the deployment of the Business School. The first of the destructive factor that could affect the Business School are the ongoing problems with natural disasters. That is, with the Kava located in the Pacific, it has been and will also be under threat from natural and man made occurrences or destructions like Typhoons, Tornadoes, Floods, Fires, Volcanic eruptions, Earthquakes and Petroleum spill. These destructions will destroy the Business School if its intensity is greater and close to the school. These occurrences are a common phenomenon in the Pacific and Kava could be no exception to it. Also, with not so advanced technological setup and infrastructure, the whole island is like a sitting duck to the nature’s fury. Even if, GT Corp builds its Business School with inbuilt protections, there will be skeptics questioning its validi ty and pinpointing only the risk factors. And, if the skepticism also creeps into the different hierarchy of the corporation and into the minds of the stockholders or stake holders, the deployment will become difficult. That is, when the top management and the stockholders raise doubts about the project, the financial resources will be blocked leading to the failure of the project. Also, a great deal of financial resources will be again needed to rebuild or repair the Business School, if it comes under the fury of the nature. Another factor, which could affect the deployment of the School, could come in the form of costly healthcare in Kava, which will be needed for protection from

Most teachers while in hidden safety places protected the students and dialed 911 for help. Some teachers communicated through cell phones on the appropriate measures to evacuate students from the school. The school bus driver together with some students ran to a nearby home for protection. The entire neighborhood after hearing the shootings in the school decided to offer help to the children. Some neighbors with cars drove into the school and rescued some students to safer areas outside the school (Altimari, Mahony, & Lender, 2013). Rick Throne, a custodian in the school, rescued six first-grade students to a nearby gas station before calling the police for help. The Problems and Attributes of Nursing Assessment Essay

The Problems and Attributes of Nursing Assessment - Essay Example The first problem was when Jane became agitated, the nurse did not respond properly. Due to Jane’s age, she was thought to have dementia when she complained about feeling locked up. Anybody in an accident can feel locked up when admitted to the hospital. The nurse should have listened to the woman more carefully and tried to soothe her or even have her son come and soothe her. This leads to the most important problem. A patient diagnosed with a concussion should never be sedated. This only causes more confusion and balance loss. It might have been a temporary fix, but in the long run, was detrimental to Jane. Age was a big factor in the nursing style here. It does not matter that Jane was productive with no major problems. The nursing staff did not look past the fact Jane was eighty-three. When Jane stubbornly refused their efforts to feed and bath her, they would sedate her more. Of course, constant sedation would mimic the effects of dementia. If diagnosed and treated with a concussion, all of Jane’s problems would have a different outcome, including her broken femur. Since she was written off as having dementia, Jane was not given a rehabilitation plan. If given a rehabilitation plan, Jane would have been more at ease knowing that she was going home. The sedation confused her more. If fewer sedatives were given and a rehabilitation plan given, Jane probably could have left the hospital before going into the nursing home. Age profiling should not have occurred by the nursing staff. All of Jane’s problems could have been avoided by a different, more understanding nursing approach.
